Our Smorgasbord Of Lives

Admirals Arch, Kangaroo Island, South Australia

IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT that if the 'Purpose of our Existence' was to experience what it is like to be a physical being... accomplished by undergoing a multitude of contrasting lives in human form, made up of a smorgasbord of different races, colours and ethnicities... then how can we possibly be racist?

How can we dislike/hate/ostracize/condemn another person because of their colour, their religion, or just for being who they are when in truth we may have previously experienced life as ‘one of them’ or it may still be on our plate for a future life?

To complain about others that are different than us is rather self centred, conceited and arrogant, for if we were able to remember as the ‘One Who Knows’ deep down within us does, we would be conscious of the fact that in essence we are ‘All One’, sharing the same multi-life experiences.

Another scary thing to think about is the fact that the more we remonstrate against people we don’t like just because they don’t do, act or look, as we would expect them to, we risk living (or reliving) a life ‘as one of them’ in one or more of our upcoming lifetimes.

Why is that so? Because of what is commonly called ‘Karma’ or ‘Cause and Effect’ which means the bully will eventually be bullied, the murderer murdered, the rapist raped etc, etc... and the warmongering racist will in a future lifetime, experience a life as one of the enemy that they are presently vilifying and killing.

The biggest failing us humans have is our propensity to be inhumane to each other.

To be uncaring, hostile, angry or bitter towards others (or life in general for that matter) means simply that we have still got a hell of a lot to learn... and alas, countless lives ahead to learn it in. Wouldn’t it be a whole lot smarter to ‘Grow Up’/‘Wake Up’ right now?

The penultimate ‘Purpose of our Existence’ is to experience physical life as a human being... But the ultimate purpose is for us to advance to higher levels of consciousness, compassion, unconditional love and understanding. The question is how long will that take...
