Learning What’s Not Taught

perth

IN OUR SOCIETY we are not taught to live the way we feel we should. We are not taught to follow our true passions and aspirations. What we are taught is to go to school, study hard in subjects that will be of little benefit to us later on, then work in some dreary job, earn a living and pay our way like the rest of society.

While knowing lots about a lot of different things may make us a more interesting, well-rounded individual that will ‘fit in’ with our society based expectations, shouldn’t we instead be encouraged to focus more on what we are naturally inclined towards or talented at?

We have this strange notion shoved down our throats that to be successful, we should be working long hours in, for most of us is a weary, mundane job, and that it’s quite normal for us to feel stressed out and tired at the end of our working day.

If we are honest with ourselves, many of our ‘chosen’ career paths don’t feel like they are part of the way we truly want to live and yet we do live this way, pushed on by society because we are inclined to follow the crowd.

“You must be willing to live and die entirely on your own judgment
and be ever ready to risk all in order to be true to yourself.”

We need to learn what we are not taught, to learn what truly interests us, what we are instinctively drawn towards, and have the courage to pursue those interests. We need to have the intestinal fortitude to go against the grain, to stand up for ourselves and follow our dreams, no matter the risks involved.

Do we need more self introspection? Are we making life more complicated than it needs to be? We all have a purpose, we all have a special gift that we need to share with the world, otherwise, we wouldn’t be here.

What is your true purpose? When you finally discover the answer to that perplexing question, you’ll realize that basically, your true purpose is to follow your dreams and be exactly who you are truly meant to be...
